EATING OUT
MONTAGNAC
All year round you can wander down to the esplanade and eat lunch at the Brasserie de l’Esplanade. The steak and chips is excellent and not expensive.
In July and August, Le Bar d’Enfaz also serves meals on the esplanade, both bars have outside tables. Saturday nights in the summer there is often live music and dancing, and on Tuesday evenings they hold a night market.
There are 3 Pizzerias, all good, L’Esplanette, Pro Pizza and Les Amis d’Oc (which also has some seating and serves a whole range of food). We usually have a drink while waiting for our pizzas, and if they’re not serving food, you can eat them in the bars.
There is a Tapas bar at the beginning of the Esplanade which serves food , wine and coffee. Another good place for lunch, but get there early, they serve from 12-2 like many French restaurant’s.
If you fancy a top quality meal, try BK, it is superb but pricy, at 4 Rue Pierre Sirven.
MEZE
Follow signs for the Port and park in the big , free car park. All the restaurants on the water front are great, if you like seafood. We go to Mezon, Les Saveurs de Thau, La maison de Pecheurs and Abri-Cotier. If you’re lucky you can watch La joute, river jousting, usually Sunday lunch times.
PEZENAS
An amazing old Roman town full of restaurants, craft stalls, art galleries and antique shops. In the summer the craft stalls stay open late, so you can have a wander before dinner. We like the Café des Arts for a drink first then take your pick, we like L’Atelier and La Ripsaille.
