Villa Ecureuils Details
'Les Ecureuils' is very well situated on a quiet road in the historic town of Montagnac. The property is entered through electric gates, which open onto a long drive to the parking area, suitable for several cars. The villa's situation is very private and the property is extremely secure. There are extensive gardens comprising trees, shrubs and lawned areas, a large south facing pool, outdoor dining area, barbecue, swings, boules pitch, and table tennis table. There is fibre internet in the property and a range extender so you can keep in touch with the world if you have time.
The pool is 10m x 5m and has steps in at the shallow end, it can be heated if needed and it has an alarm for the benefit of families with young children. There are at least 10 sunbeds, 3 permanent parasols and a pool store and shower room adjoins the pool terrace. Kept in the store are badminton racquets, boules, table tennis bats and balls and outside cushions for garden dining. There is a shower room with shower, toilet and basin and a bar with stools where you can retreat from the sun. The pool is cleaned and kept in good order, on a weekly basis by a pool expert.
The lovely Moroccan outdoor table can seat 12, it is shaded by sail shaped canopies, hung with solar lights, ideal for lunchtime and evening dining. It is situated near a large outdoor, charcoal Barbecue. We put up a net on the lawn ready for games of badminton and volley ball, and there is also a flood lit boules pitch, great fun for everyone, and a table tennis table.
The pool terrace has steps up to the veranda, this is a huge room which keeps cool with its system of sliding windows and doors and electric fans. This is where you will mainly eat at the large tiled table seating 12, or relax in the sofas and chairs overlooking the pool. There is also a table set up for chess or draft games and a chimney barbecue. To enter the villa you have to pass through the veranda to get to the front door. There are 2 sets of double doors between the veranda and the open plan living space, we keep these open in the summer months.
The villa has tiled floors throughout, white walls, pine furniture, colourful quilts and rugs and original paintings on the walls, the owner is an artist. On the ground floor, there is a large dining area with a big table for setting up jigsaws and games. The large snug area has 3 sofas and a TV , DVD player and CD player and a wood burner. We leave out a good selection of books, DVDs, CDs, games and jigsaws, for your use.
The oak fitted kitchen leads off the living area, it has a range cooker with electric oven and gas 5 ring hob. There is a large fridge /freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee machine and tons of crockery, cutlery, glasses and cooking equipment. Leading off the kitchen is the laundry, with washing machine, double sink, large fridge, iron and ironing board, hoover, mop and bucket, spare light bulbs etc and a back door leads out to washing lines.
The large hallway has an area with local information and guest handbook etc, this then leads to the 2 downstairs bedrooms a bathroom and a toilet. All the bedrooms are equipped with fans and there are mosquito nets at the windows, and shutters to keep the sun out during the summer months. The bedrooms all have original paintings and coloured quilts on the beds.
Bedroom 1 with en-suite: This double room overlooks the pool, it has a king sized bed, fitted cupboards, chest of drawers, bed side tables and an en suite with large walk in shower, toilet, basin, heated towel rail and cupboard.
Bedroom 2: This twin room looks out onto orange trees, it has 2 full size single beds, chest of drawers, bed side table and hanging rail.
Separate toilet: next door to the twin room is a separate toilet with basin.
A staircase leads to 4 further bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a separate shower room and a small veranda.
Bedroom 3 with en-suite: There is a large en suite bathroom with a pedestal bath, toilet and basin and heated towel rail, which opens into a double room facing east, with a king size bed, old French style wardrobe , chest of drawers, and bed side tables, a door off this bedroom makes it possible to connect with the twin room next door if desired.
Bedroom 4: This twin room which can connect with the Bedroom 3, contains two single beds, French style wardrobe, chest of drawers, bed side table and window facing East.
Bedroom 5: A triple room with 3 single beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables.
Bedroom 6: A huge double room with King size bed, wardrobes, dressing table, rocking chair, bedside tables and windows facing West.
Family bathroom with corner bath, large basin and vanity unit, and toilet.
Shower room, with powerful, walk-in shower.
Small veranda, useful area. for drying clothes and towels.
